Summer Summary in Numbers

At the beginning of the summer, we were on the road quite a bit.  We left to pick up George from Las Vegas June 8 and returned home on the 14th.  We left 12 days later to go to Washington for my baby sister's wedding and a family reunion piggy-backed on top of that in Portland, Oregon. We returned home July 6th. That means we were gone or traveling 18 days during a month long time period. YIKES! By the time we returned home in July, I was ready to stay home until next year. Here's a look at our travels by the numbers.

1 round trip from Cheyenne to Las Vegas: about 1700 miles
1 round trip from Cheyenne to Washington/Oregon:  about 2500 miles
Total Miles: 4200
Number of hours in a car: 60
Number of hours of silence: 3
Number of fill-ups: 12-14
Average cost of full tank of gas: $60
Money saved by driving instead of flying a family of 5: A LOT!!

Uh, this is what happens when the only camera you have is a camera phone. It's the only decent shot of my sister's wedding.
My parents with all 9 of their grandchildren.

Family fun day at the Brown family reunion.

Even though the trip was difficult at times, we were so happy to be reunited with not only a father and husband, but also to spend time with all of my brothers and sisters and their families, and all of my extended family.
